SHOWN AT THE RIVERSIDE THEATRE

PRODUCED BY MELANIE ARAYA
Not A Word is a dark, twisted comedy-drama about class systems and how language among other things can affect your placing in the world. It follows the lives of the low class street kids called The Pack, the middle class couple and the high class socialite snob. The main character, a bogan, who is rude, swears obscenely and shows disregard for others, that is until one day a strange event occurs that will question his placing in the world forever. The play acts out as a morality/Jacobean play with each character playing an important part in changing him for the better.
The play asks: Can you be born into a lifestyle you didn’t deserve and more importantly, is it possible to change? Is our character measured by our class or our very sense of being?
A comedy of errors that discusses nature vs. nurture at its’ most crucial points.
