Bringing the comic philosophy of a farce back into Australian theatres, our vision is a fast paced invigorating play featuring twenty plus absurd characters all placed in one courtroom. In Australia there is a law that states that if a person is hurt on your property they have a right to sue you. ‘A Broken Law’ discusses the absurdity of this law.

 

A Broken Law is a court case from hell; a comical farce in one act that looks at the absurdity of the law and pokes fun at it from every possible angle. Join Richard Head as he tries to win a case for his life against an egotistical lawyer and a slightly mad judge in a case where the 'norm' is literally smashed through the window and the insane holds the gavel. This is a play that will make you laugh from the prosecution to the verdict, filled with some of the craziest characters you will ever meet. It’s an 'Alice in Wonderland' like play where everyone knows what’s happening except the main protagonist.

 

The youth are vital to this productions’ sense of quirkiness and fun, when thinking about lawyers, their jobs are essentially to argue. They’re like big kids fighting over who’s right and who’s wrong.

 

This play’s goal is to make the audience laugh every thirty seconds. We want to give the audience the funniest night of their life making them leave both thinking and smiling to themselves.
