FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT COMPETITION
This year Mon Sans Productions is giving the ultimate opportunity for a young female playwright.
We are offering the chance to have your play professionally produced by one of Sydney’s rising theatre companies, Mon Sans Productions. Mon Sans has successfully put on four major productions in Sydney’s major theatre spaces, including The Seymour Centre, Riverside Theatre and The Factory Theatre.
As the winner of the competition your play will be directed by Mon Sans Productions Artistic Director, Liviu Monsted and produced by Lauren Blenkinship. This team has just come off a successful run in the Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival and is now looking to bring success to others.
Mon Sans Productions looks forward to reading your unique and engaging works.

If none of the plays are of high enough standard to be chosen we will not pick any. If you are chosen we are not held liable to perform the play if external issues stop the play from being put on.
If chosen we have full legal rights to perform the play however you still own full rights to your own material.
Any unprofessional behaviour by you partaking to the cast or crew will forfeit your involvement and halt the production.
We have permission to use your image, your name and the name of the play on our website and any form of marketing for the production.
Your prize is the chance to have your play professionally produced; no money is owed to you.
HOW TO APPLY:
Send your script to email@example.com with your name and the name of your play in the heading.
The Handling Fee is $10 and non-refundable. You may enter more than one script, but for each script entered the $10 Handling Fee must be paid.

We will only read the script once the transfer is made. When emailing the script please attach an image of the bank transfer receipt.
Applications start from 12th day of January 2016 and close on 29th February 2016. Mon Sans Productions reserves the right to vary the fee and the start and close dates as it so determines.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MON SANS PRODUCTIONS FEMALE PLAYWRGHT SEARCH:
Terms and conditions between female playwright (“Female Playwright” or “You”) and Mon Sans Productions (“Mon Sans Productions” or “Us” or “We”).
Female Playwright agrees and confirms that: You are female and aged from 16 years to 30 years.
You are the original and sole author of your submitted play (“Your Play”) and that Your Play has not been publicly performed.
Your Play is not obscene or defamatory and You indemnify and keep indemnified Mon Sans Productions and its owners, director, executives, staff and employees against all claims.
Your Play, when performed, will have a maximum performance time of 90 minutes.
Your Play can be any genre. However the Play is not to be verbatim.
Your Play is suitable for a stage performance with a minimal set required.
Mon Sans Productions has the sole discretion as to the winning play and no correspondence will be entered into regarding its decision. Mon Sans Productions reserves the right not to select a winning play if the plays submitted are of not a high enough standard as determined by Mon Sans Productions in its sole discretion.
IF YOUR PLAY IS SHORTLISTED
If Your Play is shortlisted for consideration to be the winner, You agree to travel to Sydney to meet members of Mon Sans Productions at a time and place determined by Mon sans Productions. You agree that your travelling costs including any accommodation are your responsibility alone. If you can not meet with Mon Sans Productions for any reason, Mon Sans Productions may, in its sole discretion decide that a phone interview is acceptable. However, failure to attend a meeting may be grounds, on its own, for You not being the winner.
IF YOUR PLAY IS CHOSEN
If Your Play is Chosen the prize for You is the chance to have Your Play professionally performed by Mon Sans Productions and no payment is to be made to You by Mon Sans Productions.
You give permission to Mon Sans Productions to have full legal right to perform the Play including the right to make script amendments as it so determines. You of course retain full legal right to Your Play. Mon Sans Productions is solely entitled to box office receipts, sale of programs and any other revenue that may accrue to Mon Sans Productions as a result of performing Your Play. You agree to allow Mon Sans Productions to use your name, image and the name of Your Play on its website and also for any publicity, promotion or adverting of Your Play’s performance. Your involvement in promoting the performance of Your Play is required and may include possible assistance in fundraising via crowdfunding for the production.
You acknowledge that Liviu Monsted or another person appointed by Mon Sans Productions will direct Your Play and that you have no rights to direct Your Play.
Despite the efforts of Mon Sans Productions, it is possible that the performance of Your Play may not occur and in such event Mon Sans Productions is not liable to pay You anything. Mon Sans Productions will endeavour to stage Your Play in the 2016 calendar year.
Mon Sans Productions would like your attendance at rehearsals of Your Play. If You would like to act in Your Play this is subject to suitable auditions and Mon Sans Productions has no obligation to use You as an actor in the performance. You agree that your travelling costs including any accommodation for rehearsals and the performance are your responsibility alone. If You have unprofessional behaviour towards Mon Sans Productions and its owners, director, executives, staff, employees, actors, stage manager or any one else associated with the production, then Mon Sans Productions has the right to exclude you from rehearsals and performances as it so determines.
